Department: Operations – Medical

Reports to: Games Lead Doctor

General Accountability

Oversees MED venue team. Ensure delivery of MED services including SPEC and FOP coverage. Responsible for tracking inventory, managing shift schedules, conflict resolution, communication with other FA leads. Responsible for generating daily reports and communication with MED leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Games

  • Have a strong understanding of all IG2017 MED Policies and Procedures
  • Share your personal knowledge, experience and training during the planning process to help ensure the development of a comprehensive healthcare plan
  • Attendance at the MED Work Group meeting each month
  • Act as the Functional Area (FA) representative at regular IG2017 Venue Team meetings
  • Report learnings from Venue Team meetings and identify gaps in MED planning as necessary
  • Complete projects as assigned by the MED Work Group Leadership Team
  • Participate in all required Volunteer Training sessions
  • Help deliver Games wide and Role Specific Volunteer training to Venue Medical Teams
  • Work cooperatively with the entire MED Work Group to accomplish the goals of the IG2017 MED Work Group and IG2017 Organizing Committee

Games Time

  • Act as the Lead FA volunteer during your specific shifts (unless otherwise notified)
  • Supervise Venue Medical team, consisting of a variety of healthcare professionals
  • Encourage inter-professional cooperation and learning amongst your medical team
  • Develop a positive and inclusive professional environment, focused on competitor wellness and recovery
  • Perform outlined administrative responsibilities
  • Work cooperatively with other FA leads to ensure safe and efficient delivery of venue operations
  • Act as the Medical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for your sport

Requirements

  • Medical/healthcare leadership experience with adaptive sport, Multi-sport Games or military
  • Current independent license to practice your specific health profession
  • Member in good standing with respective appropriate regulated health profession college or excepted equivalent
  • Valid malpractice and professional liability insurance during Games time (as required by respective professional College)
  • Valid Emergency First Responder w/ AED (HCP level) certificate, equivalent or higher during Games time
